Nullstar: Solus is a 2D precision platformer set in a dying sci-fi world. You pilot a corporate scavenger drone, the Solus, attempting to salvage fragments of the Nullstar, a powerful energy source, through a series of handcrafted levels.
While piloting the Solus, you can move in all four directions and have the option to dsiable each directional thruster individually in exchange for more speed. While this mechanic can enable faster completion of levels (with enough precision and control), the game and the levels are designed to be accessible enough to complete without disabling any thrusters.
I am the Level Designer of Nullstar: Solus, and my responsibilities have included:
Designing game levels from scratch
Adding hazards to empty levels
Playtesting
Working with other designers to create tutorial levels
Exhibiting the game at gaming exhibitions
